                International Mother Language Day
Image result for international mother language dayPeople express their ideas through mother tongue. It’s divine gift. From the holy Quran we come to know that Allah has bestowed a mother tongue upon every nation. Through this a person can express easily his feelings, thoughts, emotions etc to others. But it is an irony of fate that the then rulers of Pakistan tried to impose Urdu upon us as a state language instead of Bangla. On the 21st February, 1952,the young boys of that time raised their voice against this illegal decision. Some of the heroic sons among them sacrificed their glorious lives for the sake of mother tongue. In lieu of their lives they established the dignity and honour of their mother tongue. In the world no other people of any country had to fight against the ruler for their mother tongue. Now it is a great pleasure for us that in 1999, this day has been recognized as the international mother language day by UNESCO. Since 1999,this day has been observed internationally throughout the whole world. The people of the world pay their homage and profound respect to the martyrs of the language movement. We feel proud of our language.
